My fresh flower season runs from April through to October, and I then move into dried flowers over the winter months.
I create bespoke arrangements for different occasions. I love being invited to people’s homes to do floral dressing, designing arrangements that fit with both the surroundings, and the occasion.
The changing seasons dictate the arrangements and the colour palette, but my style always favours a more natural, romantic and wild look. I grow my flowers without the use of harsh chemicals, and use natural methods to reduce pest invasion. By companion planting, I aim to provide the best conditions for plants to thrive.
I make my own compost, ensuring that some of what I take from the flower patch gets put back into the earth. I support local nurseries if I have to order in more peat free, organic compost.
Imported flowers have always disappointed me, with their lack of scent and overly perfected straight stems. The chemical treatment of them seems to strip them of their beauty. The imperfection of a wonky stem or petal is far more desirable to me, and enhances my arranging style.
